Catherine Chouard, as an insatiable beauty-seeking traveler, loves to capture the wonders of a moment, may it be with photography, watercolour or sumi-e (an ink-based traditional Japanese art). She sees through the heart of reality, only to let her imagination run freely.
She integrates her own photographs into her coaching practice, noticeably with photolangage. Some companies actually bought large printings of her photographs in order to introduce a reflexive and calming energy in their meeting rooms.
The famous Korean artist and painter Bang Hai Ja (whose paintings illustrate this website, with her kind permission) encouraged Catherine to finally exhibit her photographs.
Catherine was able to display some photographs taken on the Essaouira beach in Morocco during a personal exhibition in Paris in October 2019 entitled “Instant d’Eternité”, and a collective one entitled “Soul Garden”.
Her photographs unveil a set of elements – sand, water, wind, light – as if they were messages created on a magic slate.
By letting these visual encounters touch her, Catherine captured this “instant of eternity” as on Offering to the ever-fleeting Moment.
At times paintings, at times engraving, her shots are neither staged nor edited. They celebrate the pure joy of seeing instead of just watching.
“I don’t take pictures, pictures take me! As I walk, I suddenly feel attracted by natural tracks, where lines and shapes seem to interact in a call within me. My gaze then works out to discover what Nature unveils, and every discovery is such a source of joy!”
Her exhibitions are a tribute to the ever-transforming Natural world dancing with symbols drawn by the Universe: a set of tracks where all lives on Earth can communicate. It Is a poem for reenchanting the world, an ode to these small bits of happiness, to these endless surprises that Life brings to us which we sometimes fail to notice, to the Presence, to the heartfelt care for others, and for the world.
